Former TFI employee has returned as Vice President
The Family Initiative, Inc. (TFI) is pleased to announce Curtiss Hemby as the new Vice President of Finance.
Hemby began with TFI as a Foster Care Worker in 1996. After 16 years in foster care, eventually stepping into a supervisor and then director role, Hemby took a position with Watco as a Corporate People Service Manager.
He spent 11 years with Watco and was instrumental in helping grow over-the-road brokerage and intermodal business units. Hemby most recently held the position of Vice President of Operations in the Logistics Division before returning to TFI.
“I am excited to be back and hope to add value to the finance team quickly by ensuring the folks that are working directly with the children and families have the tools to do their jobs well,” said Hemby.
In his new role, Hemby will oversee financial analyses as well as support the resource management team.
“We are thrilled to have Curtiss return to TFI as our Vice President of Finance. His years of service in the child welfare agency reflect his commitment to the well-being of every child,” said Carol Harris, Chief Financial Officer. “We look forward to his contributions and strategic financial leadership as we continue our mission of being devoted to the strength of family.”
Hemby received his bachelor’s degree in sociology and his master’s degree in human resource development from Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kan. He also received his master’s degree in social work from the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kan.
